i love that blue tang, i've never seen one with the black patterns like that, what kind is it?

  6. Beautiful Tank!!!!! Love the rock!!!!! ;)

  7. Ian,
    Gary's pictures look much better.
That blue tang is very cool. I think you have a unique fish.
Looks like your skimmer is building a good foam head. Has it produced skimate yet. Something I noticed was the distance your water pump is from your skimmer. Is there a way to get them closer. Did you try the air valve thing we talked about ?
    Later, Lonny

    thanks for the comments everyone..

Jammeronline--Mag 3 running the reeftek reactor

Kirk--Corraline coverage is probably since most of the rock is 4+yrs old and I have a calcium reactor

Ive never seen a blue tang like that either...heres another picture of him

Lonny--The mag 18 is about 4' away from the skimmer....I think I got it to produce a nice foam w/o it stagnating on the first riser, but the water level is still about midway on the first riser (and thats with the air on)...maybe I should shorten the length of the pipe from the mag18 even more u think? I could try to find a tupperware container or make an eggcrate stand to sit it on...

  12. looks good, nice blue tang

  13. I love your tang! How long have you had it? It's so unique!

feffersfish---thanks, Ive had him for about 4 months...i got him from a friend who tore his tank down after Rita hit (the tang lived through Rita w/ a generator powering only 1 powerhead for 2 weeks!)...I can say he really is a hurricane surviver

  15. Two weeks!!!

Wow... I thought my gang was tough after surviving Katrina for a week with no filtration/power...

thanks imperator...its a stable tank, I dont do much to it...i used to fool with water parameters all the time, but with the addition of a calcium reactor and a good protein skimmer, I barely have to mess with anything

adrian---some ppl on RC say he is a Black hippo Tang out of hawaii..have you heard anything about this type of fish...ive been looking everywhere but cant find any information..there is only 1 species of Paracanthurus and that is hepatus...maybe he is just an unual colormorph and nothing else?

Snausages---can you find that thread for me? I do not have a membership to RC and can never access the search engine

Travis--its doing great, already have the polyps extended some, probably needs some more time adjusting to the light, hell its already been through 3 different lights in the past 2 weeks!
