I have a couple of important things that I am waiting for a response on right now. Some have been lingering for quite some time. Some of these I have gone through before, but the process never took this long.

Yes I am being coy, no I am not going to talk now, yes I will fill you all in when they come to pass.

My wife & I have been living in hotels, or with family, for almost a year now. Trying to find the "perfect" place to live.

    I hate waiting too. :p

Haha. Neither my wife nor I are a fan of renting or living with family. We also know that no house will be perfect so as long as the area is nice and the house has the features we want we call it good.

The first time we moved back home we lived with the in-laws for about a month before we could move into our house. When we moved back this time we lived with my parents for about 6 weeks before we could move into a house. I appreciated them doing that for us, but it was less than ideal both times.

We're not thrilled with our current options for relocation, but we feel our back is up against the wall and just gotta do what we have to do to move on.

I have a little thought of what one of the circumstances you are waiting to find out are though I will not pry or ask and will wait along with others until you are ready to tell.
I do however wish you and your family well Mark and hope things work out the best for you all.

You should. We talked about it at MACNA and I am still waiting for an answer.

Well, something have come to pass. I got accepted to the MBA program at LA Tech. It is on line and should take me about 2 years at 2 classes per quarter, including the undergrad prerequisites I have to take. I start winter quarter (November) of this year.

Still waiting on the other things.

Thanks all. I had been kicking it around for a while now. At 46 I still have quite a few years to work so the extra knowledge and credential would be helpful. With two kids out of three out of high school (as of May 2018) figured I would have enough time to get it done.

No its great. Engineering is a great career but it is also monotonous and subject to many political and economic cycles. My wife and I are already talking about what career change we want to do in about 10 years. At that point, we will pretty much be where you are today.

Yes it can be. I have had my fill of running calculations, making drawings, checking drawings, producing spreadsheets, etc..

Congrats, you're doing something I should have done when I was in my forty's. I had my kids in high school and thinking I couldn't change careers because of upcoming college tuition.

Having the kids in college at the same time is going to be tough. My plan is part time so it should not be to costly at one time. It will cost more in the long run that way, but I doubt I can carry a full load while having a full time job, wife and a kid still at home anyway. No real plan to change careers, but having the MBA would allow me to redirect while staying in the industry. It would be nice to get from behind the drafting and analysis programs.
