I upgraded from a 75 to a 120 about 3 weeks ago. Here are a few shots.
nice shots. Post some more and tell us the tank specs please.
Nice setup. Is that pvc I see across the front from the sump or a closed loop?
The plumbing originates from the manifold setup that Anthony Calfo introduced on RC. Basically there is a pvc "ring" around the inside of the top of the tank with 6 tees across the front, and sides. I have both my sump pump and closed loop running through it. I am still playing around with flow: note the large gaudy nozzles.
Stand and canopy are both dyi. The plumbing runs through the wall into a closet in a spare bedroom where 2 mak4 pumps are located with a maunal top off and ro storage vat. Lighting is all vho overdriven with WH ballasts. My budget ran dry about skimmer time so I have a used berlin skimmer driven by a mag 9.5 which works surprisingly well.
Couple more shots:
Here it is 98% complete, few more trim pieces to add.
Better shot of plumbing
This is a link to the build-up if anyone is interested.
I read that as "overdriven with MH ballasts" the first time. Thought I missed out on some new trend for a second there. The lighting looks nice and intense in the first pic. Nice tank.
Lighting is all vho overdriven with WH ballasts.
i read that too. lol but what is wh?
Nice tank, but it would look 10 times better with a black background in my opinion
WorkHorse brand = WH
how are they overdriven? that usually applies to running N.O. or H.O. on V.H.O ballast. is the workhorse ballast designed to run 110w 4ft vho at 150w or something?
tank looks good, very nice growth formation on the monti cap.
thanks kirk_m. it's good to have a genius on you side. lol to help the saltwater lingo challenged. lol thanks
