I cleaned my room today and found a 1 gallon acrylic hex tank I forgot I had. I'm torn between using it as a 'fuge for my 10 gallon, or using it for another nano reef... Comments/Suggestions?

i really dont think it would be big enough for a fuge, i would be too scared of overflowing it. Unless you can get it above your tank maybe. I've been toying with the idea of a 10 gallon sump/fuge under my 55, but i'm terrified of flooding my duplex.

If you set the hex up over the tank and had water pumped up and have it return by gravity... it could work
But i'd get something like a mantis shrimp and stick it in the 10 g

I'm nearly done with a DIY skimmer that would pump from the tank. If I go the fuge route, the skimmer would have to spill into the fuge which would spill back into the tank.

In the 10, I have an emerald crab who's recently developed a taste for astrea snails. He would go in the fuge for sure. I'm not so sure I like the mantis shrimp idea. The 10 gallon is glass, and I like putting my hands in it.
