Ok, i was looking at my new montipora danae and i noticed on the outer edge ( 1/2") most of the polyps have a single white tentacle....man this is hard to explain without pics...

ok...just imagine with me.... you have an all green polyp...but 1 tentacle/arm on the polyp is white...

is this normal? This coral is doing fine but toward the edges there is alot less PE and looks like maybe a really SLOW type of bleaching.

Sorry if i confused anyone but i dont have access to pics at the moment.

    Jay,

Do you think that since the edge is white, it's just where new growth & calcification is occuring? I find that my montipora capricornis I had before the storm was like this, as is the one I got from Greg.[/quote]
