Currently setting up a new jbj 45 aio. What I need to know is if anyone has there open top tank close to a tv. Has this affected anyone? My tv sits above my fireplace . The fireplace protrudes away from the wall. The tank would sit basically where a built in cabinet would be on the sides of a fireplace. Need some opinions. Thanks. I'll see if I can get some pics up when I can.

Gotta understand that no 2 setups, even houses, are the exact same, so I'm not saying this would work in yours cuz it works in mine, but going on a little over 2 years now with my set up like this.

Do you get salt creep on the lights of the floating canopy? My setup would be really close to that.

I don't think its an issue and I would feel comfortable with it. I think a key detail is that I would have the aquarium fully enclosed like @V3NOMUS photo. My setup is also fully enclosed, albeit in the kitchen by the table. I have no salt creep whatsoever outside the cabinet. Also, next to the tv, light spill will be an issue and again can be solved with a fully closed cabinet.

Venomous is yours open top or do you have glass tops or something? Mine is a complete open top but will probably run a diffuser on my radions for light spill.

It was an open top, but I have a screen on it now, so partially open? I don't have any salt creep on the canopy or lights or anywheres outside the tank.

Your tank appears fully separated by the tv by the corner. My fireplace recess is not that far back. I think you are ok. My fireplace is mostly behind the wall, so the furring is only 6". I was picturing that, not what you show.
