Yea, Im not one to assume the worst when it comes to hitchhikers. I would try to get a better picture of it in white light. I agree with The GOB, the body form looks more like a mithrax, which would make this a wonderful tank addition.

I have not had that experience. Where have you gotten yours? Mine are the mitrax ruber from KP Aquatics.
I forgot where. It was a very large red one. That could be why. It ate 2 LPS corals and some GSP shortly after being put in the tank. I have never had experience with emerald crabs eating corals. I have been keeping them for a good many years. I did have a blue green chromis go missing a few weeks ago. The somewhat large emerald crab is my suspect. The fish did not seem very intelligent or careful; It had a bad habit of hanging around close to the tank bottom at night.

Chromis survive by means of large numbers, not intelligence LOL

It was a very large red one.
Interesting, how large? Can you post a good picture of him, or no longer have him?

I was so angry, I took it outside and smashed on the concrete in front of my home. I am not proud of that. If I had to do it all again, I would have put it in a bucket for someone in the club that has a FOLR tank.

for me, food processor, then feed it back to the tank.
