I bought the rock from a guy in my area who was closing his tank down and getting out of SW reeling. $50 takes it all. I am going to Lafayette on Monday if someone wants to meet. I can be very flexible regarding a time and place to meet.
The 5 gallon bucket lid was placed on the floor to give you all an idea about the size scale.
My guess is that this stuff is similar to the Reef Savers rock. I guess it is that quarried rock. Here is a close-up of one of the more porous rocks:
