heard they can cause damage to SPS coral. It never cause damage to your other SPS prior?

My original thoughts where since the clown goby had not touched my Monti or Bird's nest that it would be fine. Nope!

I recall that clown goby's naturally inhabit acro colonies. I suspect that in the wild the colonies are large enough the mitigate the nuisance. In our tanks though, the colonies are much smaller and it results similar to a clown trying to host a LPS.

I agree with that knowledge. That was my plans in general. I wanted a Montipora tank with some birdnest so she could have a natural habitat. I had read that as long as the colony is big enough it could withstand the picking. She started going after the LPS, the Monti, the Acros. IDK.

Yep. Just proves clown gobies are like the rest of the fish....don't know how to behave in accordance with documented observations LOL

I have no clue where she went. I put her in the sump with the dottyback and they looked so happy together again.

I think my Clown Goby got sucked into my Protein Skimmer. My heart has been broken, I have had her for over 2 years. Just imagining what horrific ending that must have been. I feel like I made a horrible mistake.

Quite a small fish that can be hiding in odd places where you may not see it first look around.
I'm going to hold on to that idea for a while.

I'm going to be buying a new house in the coming months and considering selling a hell of a lot of coral/rock/fish. Wanting a somewhat fresh start.

The devastation of a failed tank move. All fish are dead, 90% of coral is dead. Tossed out lbs of rotting rock. Kept about 1/5 of the LS. Just horrible to experience.

Man I hate reading this. Sorry to hear about this. Moves are stressful and, well, there is little in our control sometimes. I would ditch all of the LS. LS is the least useful thing to recycle, unfortunately. The rock can be recycled after a cure, but sometimes better to just start it all over, especially in smaller tanks. Hopefully you will.

I'm glad you saved something atleast. I see a very nice favia that looks like it made it in.that picture. Any updates on what survived and how it's doing. If any of those were acans I would keep the skeleton a while. I've got 2 small colonys that came back from months bare skeleton in an old tank.

These were all taken 2-3 day ago. My kid broke my lens filter setup.
