I recently moved back to the New Orleans area and in the move I transferred everything into a 14g biocube with an led light retrofitted in the hood. I had some wacky parameters with the move and using a different salt but now I have everything back in line.
The large toadstool leather I have still remains curled and shriveled up. It used to be 4” across and now it’s only about 1.5” and is curled so the top faces down. Everything else is happy and it has been a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any insight or ideas or is it a goner ?

what whacky parameters are you or have you had ?

The leather could be mad about the lighting or water movement. Just dont know enough about your system to make that call.

Leathers are extremely moody and can close up ( smooth no polyps extended ) for multiple reasons including changing tanks, moving and even a close neighbor they dont like much.
They also wax over from time to time to shed off any algae growth or the like from their tissue plus do this when they grow.

Post up a picture of the leather in question in decently day light conditions so we can take a look.
If its not melting away, crown cracking up into smaller pieces ( self propagation ) or bruised / damaged badly I would not worry much about it honestly.
What I would do is test everything parameter wise you can checking for anything out of the ordinary, then ponder if the flow or lighting is an issue.

I used a different salt to mix up the salt to pre cycle this tank weeks ahead of the move. I mixed it to 1.024 and let it run. Before I moved everything into the new tank I tested after it had been running for a few weeks with the water and ph was 7.4 and alk was less than 5.5 Dkh.

I immediately did a water change and I have done a couple of them since as well as manually doses some saturated kalkwasser solution attached is the last round of testing from last week.

I will get some pictures of the tank/coral today

What about phosphate and nitrate? To me those numbers dont look too wonky, at least nothing I'd worry about for leathers

Those are the new numbers. The old numbers were 5.4 dkh. 7.4 ph. And 370 calcium. That was fresh 14 gallons of fresh mix. Nitrates and phosphates are low less than 5ppm and .1 respectively. They were a little higher in the pico I had them in before the move so maybe the drop in nitrates and phosphates?

What do you have for flow in the tank ?
What type of light do you have ? If LED do you know how bright you have them set ?

A sudden drop in Nitrate from the old tank to a new tank with all new water will likely make quite a few corals mad.
I would be looking at flow and lighting first given your water parameters are being held decent by water changes.

It’s a 14 biocube. I have 200+ gph on the pump and I have an sw2 wave maker so I have pretty good flow

I have one of the little aqua knight led lights retro fitted in the hood. I run it with blues on 100 and whites on about 70%
